Dr Ben Weavell (Osteopath)

Hello! I’m Ben.

Whether we’ve already met in person or you’ve wandered in from Google or Instagram, I’m glad you’re here.

One of the best things about my job is meeting people I wouldn't otherwise get to meet.

Across nearly ten years as an osteopath I've worked with people from all walks of life — from aspiring junior athletes to people staying active into their 90s, and from people with physical jobs to an awful lot of people who spend their working day at a desk.

Everyone has their own life and their own things they want to do. That variety means there's rarely a simple, straightforward formula for what will help.

Luckily, I like figuring things out.

Understanding what's going on, working through the problem and finding a way forward is incredibly rewarding — for me and, hopefully, for you.

I grew up in Victoria, completely AFL mad.

I'm still a Hawks tragic. As a kid I spent a big chunk of time chasing a footy around, and I also did martial arts for years, eventually earning a junior black belt in karate (ooh look out).

That early interest in sport and movement probably had something to do with why, at eighteen, fresh off completing Year 12 PE and convinced I had it all figured out, I decided to become a personal trainer.

I was eager, enthusiastic and, in retrospect, a little misguided.

Fortunately, that first foray into healthcare led me to osteopathy, and I haven’t looked back from there.

I'm still fascinated by movement.

Now more than fifteen years on from where it all began as a naive young PT, I’m still learning, and I’m still being surprised by what the human body is capable of.

That's probably enough about me. I'd rather hear about you.
